Graham Watman

Graham Watman (B.Ag.Ec., Dip.Fin.Mgt., ACA) applies his business and financial expertise to formulate pragmatic approaches to help his clients achieve their goals. He was formerly Executive Chairman and Managing Partner of the Sydney office of Grant Thornton and the International Business Centre Director for Australia. Involved in professional tax accounting and advisory work since 1976, Graham joined Charles J Berg & Partners as a Senior Accountant – specialising in the accounting and tax affairs of high net worth individuals and privately owned and managed businesses.

As a member of one of the country’s most renowned taxation and corporate advisory practices of its era, Graham specialised in agricultural management and accounting. From 1974-6, he lived on a 10,000 acre sheep and cattle property at Glen Innes and was responsible for all financial aspects of that business (from Sydney) for the next 10 years. He is currently responsible for several extensive agricultural properties as well as an owner of two farming operations.

Nowadays Graham spends his time as a professional director and advisor consulting on and managing the day-to-day affairs of investor clients and companies, as well as working on the structuring, financing and acquiring of new investments.

Glen Zell

Glen (B. Ag. Ec.) CA has extensive experience in compact, management focused accounting firms specialising in private business owners.

His career commenced at Charles J. Berg, a boutique firm specialising in quality service to high value individuals and families, with a particular expertise in rural businesses. He gained his professional qualifications in 1982. Glen then moved to Hassall & Associates Pty. Limited, cementing their move into Accounting and Financial Services.

In 1987 Glen worked with Chapman & Eastway in Sydney, a medium sized Chartered Accounting firm with a reputation for rural expertise. Glen became an equity partner with Chapman Eastway, and established a reputation as a specialist in Information Technology, speaking at numerous forums and judged rural software at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. Glen has also sat on the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia Committee for Small and Medium Enterprises and represented the Institute of Chartered Accountants on the Australian Government committee governing the establishment of the Australian Business Number (ABN) regime.

Over the last decade Glen has specialised in small business management and accounting, and retains a strong group of rural clients. He is a partner with his family in an extensive mixed farming operation.

Nada McRae

Nada McRae (BFinAdmin, CA, CPA) has had extensive experience with Agricultural and high wealth clients.

After completing her degree at the University of New England, she began her accounting career in Tamworth, regional NSW, specialising in agriculture and small businesses, before moving to Sydney in 2004 and working at Chapman Eastway. She commenced with Catalyst Partners at its inception in 2008 as a manager prior to becoming a partner in 2021.

She has extensive experience in client satisfaction, staff management, leadership of junior accountants and delivering exceptional service to clients; always with attention to detail.

Nada specialises in providing both day to day management to clients, including periodical management reporting and providing accounting services with a high level of tax knowledge; particularly on investments, agriculture and non-residents.

Growing up on a rural property, with family still there, Nada as always had a keen interest in agriculture. Additionally Nada enjoys working with the intricacies of accounting and taxation for investments in financial markets. This helps Nada manage her clients’ financial affairs to ensure they establish and maintain appropriate

structures for both wealth creation and group estate management.

Sadaf Malik

Sadaf Malik (B.Com., CA) joined Catalyst Partners in 2022 upon her return to Sydney after a period of working overseas in diverse commercial roles in Dubai, UAE.

Sadaf completed her degree from Macquarie University, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ) in 2003. Her eight+ years of Chartered practice experience in Sydney includes four years at Chapman Eastway where she previously worked with Glen and Nada.

Her international roles have included working for a private family office in Dubai, Regional Financial Controller MEA for a Norwegian company specialising in power conversion technology, and most recently as Financial Controller with Hutchison Ports UAE (a division of Hong Kong listed CK Hutchison Holdings). Sadaf has a particular interest in taxation, financial markets, commercial and legal matters.
